Welcome to the flip side!
5 Things I Bought to Change My Life...
But Never Used

(The ADHD Edition, aka “Stuff That’s Judging Me from the Closet”)
At some point in my ADHD-fueled optimism, I was certain that each of these things would transform my chaotic life into a streamlined, organized dream. Spoiler alert: they did not. Instead, they now exist as decorative guilt totems in my home. If you relate, welcome. You’re in good company.
1. The Laser Hair Removal Device
This was supposed to save me time, money, and effort forever. All I had to do was commit to 10 minutes, twice a week. For three months. I used it… once. On one armpit. Now it just lives in my drawer, whispering “smooth girl era” while I ignore it.
2. The Label Maker
I envisioned a home where every bin was labeled, every drawer had a purpose, and my entire space radiated functional calm. I made one label that said “Miscellaneous” and promptly gave up. At least I own the tools for success. That counts, right?
3. The Inkjet Printer (for chore charts)
This one was for printing beautiful color-coded systems to help my kids with routines. I got overwhelmed choosing fonts, graphics, and sticker designs, and then forgot to buy ink. The printer now sits quietly in the corner… printing nothing but regret.
4. The 6-Cube Storage Rack (Still in the Box)
I ordered this with every intention of organizing the playroom, office, or maybe the hallway closet? It’s been in the box for 7 months. I’ve vacuumed around it so often it’s basically a member of the family now.
5. Fancy Organizing Supplies
Binders. Dividers. Tabs. Pocket folders. Aesthetic Pinterest dreams. I bought them to “get my life together,” but apparently they don’t work unless you actually open them. They’re still pristine—and will likely stay that way.
The ADHD Takeaway
I bought these things in moments of hope. Motivation. A desire for change. And even though they didn’t fix my life, I’m learning to give myself grace. Because living with ADHD isn’t about perfection—it’s about trying, adapting, and laughing at the chaos along the way.
Plus, it’s only a matter of time before I hyper-fixate and organize my whole house in 48 hours. Probably.
